Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what students, parents, and educators ask most.

Getting Started

How do I create an account?
Click Get Started on the homepage, enter your email and a password, then verify your email by clicking the link we send you. You'll be in within a minute.
Why do I need to verify my email?
Email verification protects your account and is required before you can access the app. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder or use the "Resend Verification" link on the login page.
What devices does it work on?
Future Money U is mobile-first and runs in any modern browser — phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. There's nothing to install.

Pricing & Billing

How much does it cost?
Single Plan is $8.99/month (or $67.99/year — save 37%). Family Plan is $17.99/month (or $139.99/year — save 35%) and covers multiple family members. See the pricing section for full details.
Is there a free trial or a free version?
There's no time-limited free trial. Paid plans are cancel anytime — no commitment, so you can subscribe, look around, and cancel before the next billing cycle if it isn't for you.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account settings at any time. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period.
What's the difference between Single and Family?
Single covers one learner. Family covers up to 5 household members — each with their own login and progress — plus a shared family dashboard where everyone can see each other's XP, current module, and achievements.
How do I add family members to the Family Plan?
After signing up, go to Profile → Family Plan, name your family group, then invite up to 4 additional members by email. Each invitee gets an email with an accept link; they create their own account using that email and join automatically. You can revoke pending invites or remove members at any time from the same screen.
Does each family member get their own progress?
Yes. Every member has their own account, XP, achievements, lesson progress, budgets, goals, and tools. The family dashboard is shared — everyone can see each other's progress to stay accountable — but no one can edit anyone else's data.

Learning & Progress

What do the modules cover?
10 modules: Financial Adulting Onboarding, Budgeting 101, Smart Spending, Banking Basics, Understanding Credit, Avoiding Debt Traps, Saving & Goal Setting, Real-Life College Scenarios, Investing Basics, and Money & Career.
Do I have to complete modules in order?
Nope. All 10 modules are unlocked from day one. Start wherever you want and learn at your own pace.
How long does the full program take?
Most students finish in 8–12 hours total, typically spread over a few weeks at 1–2 modules per week. Lessons are short and built for phone-sized chunks of time.
How do XP and achievements work?
You earn XP for completing lessons, using tools, and hitting milestones. Achievements unlock as you progress and show up on your dashboard.
Can I retake lessons or quizzes?
Yes — retake any lesson or quiz as many times as you want.

Financial Tools & AI Features

What tools are included?
15+ interactive tools including a budget builder, credit simulator, loan and debt payoff calculators, savings goal planner, financial health radar, and a financial decision time machine.
Are the AI features safe to rely on?
AI-powered features (like personalized learning recommendations) are designed to help guide your learning journey. They're educational tools — not personalized financial advice. For major decisions, talk to a qualified financial professional.
Does the app give real financial advice?
No. Future Money U is a financial literacy education platform — we teach concepts and skills. We don't provide personalized investment, tax, or legal advice.

Parent & Guardian Dashboard

How do I set up parent access?
Go to Profile → Parent/Guardian Access and enter your parent's name and email. We'll automatically email them a secure access code along with instructions for viewing your progress — no copying or sharing required on your end.
What can parents see?
Parents see progress summaries, completed modules, and milestone notifications. They don't see private content like personal budget entries.
Do parents get notified automatically?
Yes — parents receive email notifications when you hit major milestones, so they can celebrate with you (or just know you're using it).
Can I turn off parent access?
Yes. You can revoke the parent access code or disconnect the parent account from your settings at any time.

Account & Privacy

I forgot my password — what do I do?
Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. We'll email you a reset link.
Is my financial data private?
Yes. Your account data is encrypted and only visible to you (and any parent you've explicitly linked). We never sell your personal information.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact us and we'll permanently delete your account and associated data.
Do you sell my data?
No. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what we collect and how it's used.

For Schools & Programs

Is there pricing for schools or programs?
Yes — see Educational Pricing for typical ranges, or visit University Partnerships to start a conversation.
Can the app fit into our orientation or first-year program?
Yes — that's one of the most common use cases. See the Curriculum Integration page for examples.
Do you offer pilot programs?
Yes. We're actively partnering with a small number of programs and offering early-partner pricing. Reach out to talk it through.
